Jonathan Dingle FRSA
Jonathan Dingle is a renowned international mediator, mentor, and faculty leader. He founded the Civil Mediation Council and the Society of Mediators, where he serves as Courses Director and Faculty Leader. With over 3,000 mediations across the UK, Europe, South Africa, and the USA/Caribbean, Jonathan specializes in resolving complex commercial, civil, relationship, and workplace disputes, including sensitive international cases. His recent work includes restorative justice mediation in Johannesburg and developing access to resolution in the Mediterranean.
Jonathan’s background includes a career in the Royal Navy and service as Judge Advocate before transitioning into conflict resolution, with a focus on relationship issues and military-related disputes. He is a barrister, arbitrator, and holds prestigious qualifications such as FRSA, FSOM, FAOASA, and MCIArb.
Known for his non-judgemental and incisive approach, Jonathan is highly respected for his ability to achieve durable resolutions. He has contributed to the bestselling Practical Mediation and writes on ADR.
Based in London, he frequently works in Greece, Gibraltar, South Africa, and the Caribbean. When not mediating, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his grandsons and exploring the world on motorcycles.
Ruby Sandhu - Chair
Ruby Sandhu is an international lawyer (solicitor of the senior courts of England and Wales), accredited mediator and facilitator. Her legal expertise includes international law in developing and emerging countries with developing expertise in sustainability and animal law. Ruby specialises in mediating international, community and commercial disputes, demonstrating her versatility and adaptability. Ruby’s approach to mediation is marked by sensitivity, empathy and empowerment, unparalleled listening skills, emotional intelligence, and an adeptness at conflict resolution techniques. She is an authentic communicator and leverages this to facilitate dialogue and build trust. Ruby believes in addressing challenges swiftly to prevent escalation and into costly litigation, emphasising the importance of communication, collaboration and creative problem solving in achieving beneficial outcomes. Ruby is committed to advancing access to justice and has dedicated many years to pro-bono work in the UK. Internationally this includes in her role as the Vice-Chair of the Solicitor International Human Rights Group, UNICEF Committees and as a Trustee of the Society of Mediators. Ruby was recently elected as the Chair of the Society of Mediators; she has been an integral and active member of the Society since 2011.
Helena Campbell
With over 20 years in the legal sector and more than a decade as a mediator, Helena has seen first-hand how long, drawn-out legal battles can drain time, energy, and money.
Founder of Clockwork Mediation, with experience in Civil Mediation as a Council accredited mediator, Helena specialises in Civil & Commercial disputes.
Helena's approach is fair, structured, and designed to help create a conversation in a way that feels safe, efficient, and constructive.
As a national and international mediator, she also offers mentoring services and observation opportunities for aspiring and fellow mediators. She is a panel member for the association of South West mediators, Trust Mediation, the NHS Resolution approved panel for specialist medical negligence mediations.

Leah Brown FRSA
Leah Brown is an inspiring polymath, mediator, changemaker, and educator who hosts The Longest Day podcast and is a regular member of the Faculty.
Having qualified as a mediator seven years ago, Leah works worldwide, including with the Society in South Africa, to promote and develop mediation. She is also a regular solo and co-mediator with and excellent record of inspiring collaborative conversations. Leah will encourage and inspire you to embrace mediation and change.
Anthony Airey
Barrister, Experienced Mediator (Civil and Commercial)
Experienced mediator in Civil and Commercial disputes. Tutor and examiner at the Society of Mediators. Trustee and President of the Society. Currently working with the Chair and others on a review of the Society's constitution and governance. Years of experience at providing legal support to corporate clients and litigants in person. Active mediator in the Free Mediation Service and a participant in the Summer Blitz project at the Royal Courts of Justice. Many years of service in the governance of Private Limited Companies. Former school governor and pension fund trustee. Trustee of other charities and director of charitable companies.
Lucy Jackson Cousin
Lucy is a senior faculty member of the Society of Mediators and regularly tutors and assesses delegates in both Civil and Commercial Foundation and Workplace and Employment courses. She has trained mediators internationally from London to Cape Town as well as post-graduate students in the law faculties of UCL, King’s College and Northumbria University. She is directly instructed by clients in a very broad range of matters with recent mediations including music publishing rights, investor/start-up fundraise, fashion and global usage rights, landlord and tenant, probate and inheritance. She also regularly mediates in circumstances where the participants cannot afford mediation on the The Free Mediation Service; the very valuable pro bono work that The Society of Mediators provides which offers accessible mediation for all, both in person at The Royal Courts of Justice in London and online.
As part of her commitment to community cohesion, Lucy has been developing and researching restorative justice models to use both in the UK and other jurisdictions. Lucy enjoys close ties with Khulisa Social Solutions and has spent significant time in South Africa helping to bring a movement for mediation led community cohesion. Together with the Society of Mediators this facilitation provides a masterclass in calm, accountable conflict resolution; offering frontline teams, social workers, lawyers and community leaders the practical tools they can apply. She has a clear knowledge of rehabilitation systems and is looking forward to creating further dialogue circles internationally.
Taylor Sifuna
Taylor Sifuna is a fully accredited mediator and Trustee of the Society of Mediators. Having recently graduated with a degree in History and embarked on her journey towards the Bar, she has developed a strong interest in civil and commercial mediation.
As a Trustee of the Society of Mediators, Taylor contributes to the governance of the organisation and supports its charitable objectives, helping to further its mission of promoting excellence in mediation and widening access to alternative dispute resolution.
Taylor also works alongside senior faculty members to support the Society's educational programmes, contributing to the delivery of a wide range of mediation courses, including those at leading educational institutions. She has also supported initiatives in international jurisdictions that promote the important role of mediation in restorative justice.
As a mediator, Taylor adopts a facilitative approach centred on active listening, creating a space in which participants feel genuinely heard and understood. She believes that meaningful and lasting resolutions are most likely to emerge when participants are empowered to engage in open and constructive dialogue, creating further dialogue circles internationally.
Keith Ealey
Keith comes from a broadcast engineering background where he runs his own business providing specialist project services to many tv and radio companies as well music studios, corporate entertainment and allied industries. Before that, my basic engineering training was in military electronics. In addition to engineering, Keith has an interest in psychology, hypnosis and psychotherapy. When Keith qualified as an accredited mediator, he was invited to be a trustee of the Society of Mediators, part of the training faculty, where he heads the Free Mediation Service.
As a mediator, Keith has an intense interest in passing on his knowledge to others to help them build confidence and trust in process. His mediation work includes many civil, commercial, workplace, employment and community mediations but he finds the latter disciplines the most interesting and challenging. Working in his community, Keith strives for a fine balance between all members of the community, businesses, schools, councillors, other stakeholders and the police.
